Show News

We are having a reasonable show season this year. While we have not managed a win at an All Welsh Show, 4 of our ponies have won at Medal & Sire's Ratings shows this season. In hand, the highlight has been Keyi Wild Flower winning Supreme Section B at the Northern NSW RPG Medal & Sire's Rating Show. Thank you Anne & Liz Stevenson doe showing her so well. Under saddle Keyi Hutu, the balck gelding being showen by Julie & Breanne in South Australia, has qualified for the Grand National in Sydney. Congratulations on your succes in only his 2nd season.

27-05-2012 - 2012 Show News

Pontsteffan Simwnt foals do well at the Southern NSW RPG foal show.  The colt Keyi Chamonix and filly Keyi Chriselda did us proud at the Southern NSW foal show.  Chamonix won his class and was champion Welsh pony in both rings.  Chriselda won her class in both rings and was reserve champion Welsh pony in one ring.

They are now coming home for a well earned rest before the new show season starts.

Pontsteffan Simwnt foals do well at the early foal shows.  Two Pontsteffan Simwnt foals, the colt Keyi Chamonix & the filly Keyi Chriselda have done well at the North East Border and Southern NSW Foal shows.

Keyi Chamonix won strong colt foal classes at both shows and was reserve champion foal at the Southern NSW show.  Keyi Chriselda won her class at the Southern NSW Show and was champion Section B foal.

Contessa wins Supreme exhibit at the Northern NSW RPG Youngstock Show.  Keyi Contessa won supreme exhibit in both rings at the 2013 Northern NSW RPG Youngstock Show.  Her half sister, Keyi Wild Flower, owned by Anne & Liz Stevenson, was reserve champion filly in both rings.

A great end to an amazing show season.  Thank you Daniel for showing our ponies so well.

Contessa wins supreme youngstock at the Welsh National Show.  Keyi Contessa, the yearling filly by Weston Park Congo out of Keyi Corn Bunting, won supreme youngstock at the Welsh National Show held at Tatura on 9 March 2012.  Her full sister, Keyi Consela won her yearling filly classes at the 2005 NSW and 2006 Victorian All Welsh Shows in and her full brother, keyi Carbine was supreme gelding at the 2010 Victorian All Welsh Show.  Thank you Dainel Harvey for showing her so well.

Hutu & Vancouver fly the flag for the Keyi pony stud in South Australia.  Keyi Hutu & Keyi Vancouver, owned by Julie De Zwila and Breanne Pope have done the Keyi stud proud at the recent South Australian All Welsh Show.  On Saturday, Keyi Vancouver won a strong class for 3 year old Welsh pony geldings before going on to win Youngstock gelding.  On Sunday Keyi Hutu won Supreme Ridden Welsh.  Hutu is the 25th pony to win at an All Welsh Show since the Keyi stud started exhibiting in 1988.

Keyi Cello wins supreme Welsh pony at the NSW All Welsh Show. 

Keyi Cello, the yearling colt owned by Rebecca Mansell, won supreme Welsh pony, reserve supreme youngstock and reserve Welsh exhibit at the 2012 NSW All Welsh Show held in Sydney.

Rebecca purchased Cello when she saw him when he was a 4 day old foal running with his dam at Caroola.

Keyi Cello does well at his first show

Keyi Cello, the Pontsteffan Simwnt colt out of the Carolinas Mistlethrush mare, Keyi Chime, did well at the Eastern NSW RPG Foal Show.

Cello was champion Section B foal in ring 1 judged by John While and Reserve Champion Section B foal in ring 2, judged by Ruth Chittick.

Keyi ponies do well at the Western NSW RPG Foal & Youngstock Show

Keyi ponies did well at the foal & youngstock show run by the Western NSW RPG in Bathurst on 3 June.

The black roan yearling filly, Keyi Wild Flower was supreme exhibit for Anne & Liz Stevenson.  Keyi Corn Silk won the Section B foal & was reserve champion Welsh foal.

Keyi Corn Silk's show career starts with a bang

Keyi Corn Silk (sire: Weston Park Congo, Dam: Keyi Corn Poppy) career as a show pony has got off to a great start.

At her 1st show, the Southern NSW Foal Show, She was supreme Welsh exhibit in ring 1, champion Welsh pony in ring 2.  She then went on to win overall supreme Welsh exhibit and topped off a great day by being awarded supreme foal.

Keyi Hutu qualifies for the 2013 Grand National Show

Keyi Hutu, the black gelding owned by Julie De Zilwa & Breanne has qualified for the 2013 Grand National Show at the SHC - SA Rising Star Show.  Hutu was runnner up Grand National Qualifier Large Show Hunter pony.  He also won Supreme champion led Show Hunter pony.

He joins Nawarrah Park King Aurther, the Welsh cob gelding owned by Lucy & Jenny Hocking as one of the early pure Welsh exhibits to qualify for the 2013 Grand National Show.

Keyi ponies do well at the Canberra Royal Show

A Carolinas Mistlethrush daughter and granddaughter flew the flag for the Keyi stud in the Welsh ring at the Canberra Royal Show, judged by Mark Bullen.

Keyi Chasca, by Pontsteffan Simwnt out of Keyi Chime, a Carolinas Mistlethrush mare, won her Welsh pony youngstock class and then went on to win reserve champion Welsh pony.  Thank you Robert Jones for showing her so well for us.

Keyi Chelawa, owned by Gordon Ball & Stephen Paris won the her Welsh pony mare class.

3 out of 3 aint bad.  Keyi ponies have a succesfull day at the Southern NSW Pony Classic Show

The Keyi stud exhibited 3 ponies at the Southern NSW Pony Classic Medal & Sire's Rating Show held at Moss Vale on 10 December 2011.

Keyi Chasca (photo above) won the yearling filly class.

Keyi Vesuvius won the yearling Section B gelding Class, and Keyi Carbine was Champion Section B gelding.

Carolinas Mistlethrush gelding does well under saddle at the Victorian All Welsh Show.

Chelsea Park Jubilation, a son of Carolinas Mistlethush breed by Ray & Sue Esson did really well for his owner, Kerryn Keating at the recent Victorian All Welsh Show.  Ridden by 10 year old Coriah, he won champion riiden Welsh and won his ridden Welsh Section B hunter class.  Congratulations on a great show.

Keyi ponies do well at the National Capital Horse Welsh Medal Show

The Keyi ponies did well at the National Capital Horse Show held in Canberra on 26th November.

Keyi Chasca won the filly class and went on to win the reserve champion Section B to Laithehill Mozart.

Keyi Wild Flower wins Supreme Section B at the Northern NSW RPG Medal & Sires' Rating Show

Keyi Wild Flower (by Weston Park Congo out of Keyi Wild Holly) won Supreme Section B & was reserve Supreme in hamd at the Northern NSW RPG Show held on 20 November 2011.

Keyi Hutu qualifies for the Grand National Show at the Champion of Champions Show in South Australia

Keyi Hutu has qualified for the Grand National Show to be held in Sydney in March 2011 in the Show Hunter pony ring.

We are thrilled for Julie & Breanne who have done such a great job showing her.

04-04-2011 - Yearling filly wins supreme Section B at the Castle Hill Show

Keyi Chimera wins supreme Section B at the Castle Hill Show.

Keyi Chimera, a yearling filly by Weston Park Congo out of Keyi Christianna (by Carolinas Mistlethrush) won supreme Section B at the Castle Hill Show.

24-02-2011 - Keyi ponies do well at the Canberra Royal Show

Ponies bred by the Keyi pony stud did well at the Canberra Royal Show.

The mare, Keyi Chelewa, owned and expertly shown by Gordon Ball & Stephen Paris won a large Section B mare class and won Reserve Champion Section B pony.  The picture was taken by Gordon Ball.

The yearling filly, Keyi Chimera, won a large filly class.

The yearling gelding, Keyi Vancouver, won a large Section B gelding class & Reserve Champion gelding.

18-04-2010 - Keyi stud does well at the Victorian All Welsh Show

The Keyi Stud had a great show at the 2010 Victorian All Welsh Show.

Keyi Vancouver (by Weston Park Congo out of Weston Valetta)  was second in the yearling Welsh colt class and went on to be reserve champion Welsh colt to the eventual Welsh youngstock champion.  Thanks Daniel, for showing him so well.

Keyi Carbine (pictured as a three year old) won champion Welsh pony gelding and went on to win Supreme gelding.  This is the first time a Keyi pony has won a supreme at an All Welsh Show.  Thanks you Daniel & Sabina for showing him.  Carbine is now staying at the Keyi to become Janet's saddle horse.  We do have 2 younger black roan brothers for sale.

02-09-2008 - Keyi Stud does the triffecta at the 2010 NSW All Welsh Show

The Keyi Stud had a reasonable day in the Welsh pony ring at the 2010 NSW All Welsh Show judged by Cheryl Firth from the United Kingdom.

Keyi Christianna (by Carolinas Mistlethrush out of Rotherwood Charm) won her dry mare 8 years and over class.

Keyi Vancouver (by Weston Park Congo out of Weston Valetta) was second in a strong yearling colt class to the eventual supreme Welsh pony.
